JAGUAR: In the Aztec culture Jaguars are a symbol of power, ferocity and valor. It is used to symbolize brave warriors. Additionally, the Aztecs viewed jaguars as the rulers of the Underworld, which also made them a symbol of wisdom and protection from evil. The front logo design was inspired by a jacket patch from the 1970’s that represented the fight for Brown Power in America. While we’ve made progress towards equality, we still have a long way to go. The symbolism of the jaguar in combination with the fist is meant to encourage the effort towards equity and empowerment of the brown community.
